Three Creative Wedding Guest Book Ideas

In years past the wedding guest book was a simple record of the day’s attendees. You know, the 10 inch x 8 inch leather bound book paired with a feathered pen that looked more suited for Ben Franklin’s desk than for a wedding in modern times. Well, the days of simplicity and good ol’ Ben are over. Today’s world is centered around the design savvy bride who’s all about being unique and chic — in every aspect of the big day including the wedding guest book. Here are three unique guest book ideas that are sure to get your creative juices flowing in creating the ultimate wedding guest book for your big day!

The Polaroid Photo Guest Book

Two words… ok maybe three. “Ultra-Cool-Nostalgia.” Who doesn’t remember the super cool Polaroid camera craze of the 70s? Wasn’t it a feat of modern brilliance to snap a photo and within 30 seconds see it magically appear in front of your eyes!!! I know, I know… digital cameras do it instantly… but you just can’t beat the signature white border of a Polaroid. Classic.

If you’re getting all nostalgic inside than it’s time for you to check out the Adesso Albums Polaroid Photo Guest Book. In a few simple steps your guests can create a one of a kind guest book that will last forever.Step 1: Set up a photo guest book table. You’ll need: Polaroid Camera, Polaroid film, Adesso Albums Polaroid Photo Guest Book, and a chic pen (feathers, optional). Step 2: Set-up a sign that lets your guests know what to do. Better yet, have a family member “work the guest table” taking photos of guests and showing them how to write in the album. Step 3: The best step of all — the two of you can spend a few minutes together the next day or while on the honeymoon looking at the photos and reading all of the sweet notes your friends and family jotted down.

The Photos of the Bride and Groom Guest Book

Who says your guest book has to be just about your guests? By putting together a handcrafted scrapbook album you not only get to snag the signatures of your friends and family, but you can showcase your personal love story over the years with photos. Here’s how to do it:

www.colormewedding.comStep 1: Get out there and get shopping for the perfect scrapbook album. Don’t be scared to go with something colorful. Scrapbook albums come in a variety of sizes and shapes from big to small so you have lots of opportunities to express your individual style. Check out Target and Michaels. for great selections in scrapbook albums.

Step 2: Get to creating each page within the album featuring a photograph of the two of you. Tip: Be sure to leave enough room on each of the pages to allow guests to sign their name and leave a message for the two of you.

Step 3:
Put your scrapbook together. Remember to leave the pages outside of the plastic protective covers. Get yourself a few pens to lay beside the album and voila — you’re done.

Creative guest books are a fun option for weddings and create memorable keepsakes the bride and groom will treasure for years.

Her Guest Book Stole the Prize!

Every time I attend a wedding I am WOWed by the creativity of the bride. There is always one thing that sticks out as being amazingly unique… one of those things that makes you say… “Why didn’t I think of that?” At my friend Katie’s wedding last September, she stole the “unique and creative prize” with her one-of-a-kind guest book. Her wedding was of the destination sort up the Northern California coast in the quaint seaside community of Sea Ranch. The ceremony took place in a hilltop church that featured floor to ceiling windows that framed the spectacular views of the surrounding redwoods. When you stepped outside the building you could see and hear the crashing waves of the Pacific. It was absolutely stunning. Katie spent many summers there as a child and then as a couple these two frequented this locale on weekend get-aways. Sea Ranch means a lot to them and so they chose it to be “their wedding spot” forever etching Sea Ranch in their history together.

To commemorate Sea Ranch, Katie and Steve chose to have guests sign the pages of a hardback, coffee table style book featuring photographs of Sea Ranch. What a cool idea!

I went to Katie’s house this weekend and there it was… her guest book… sitting on the coffee table right under the remote. When I saw it we immediately started to chat about her wedding and then proceeded to get out photos and laugh about this and that. I guess this is how she envisioned it working? It’s a random Saturday.. her wedding a distant memory to most… someone grabs for the remote and BAM… they see this gorgeous book from the wedding. Wedding conversation ensues… we say how pretty she looked… she smiles.. we laugh… we reminisce… SHE’S A TRUE WEDDING JUNKIE!!!! Who knew grabbing the remote control could bring up so many memories? Apparently, Katie did.

I hope these ideas give you some inspiration for your big day. Until next time, have a blast planning and always, always, always — remember to dream big, gals!
